Sue Cato passed away unexpectedly on September 8, 2021 in Annapolis, MD.  Susan Kay Cato was born in Davenport, Iowa on October 27, 1950 to Robert and Mary Ann (Winchell) Murphy.  She graduated from Assumption High School in 1968 and soon after met the love of her life, Paul Cato.  They were married on July 31, 1971 and together, built a beautiful life.

Sue was an avid cheerleader of the Baltimore Ravens and the Iowa Hawkeyes and loved a good tailgate or reason to get together with family & friends to enjoy games, food, and laughter.

Sue's greatest joy in life was being the most incredible mother to her three children and being called "Mimi" by her grandchildren who were the center of her entire world.  She is remembered for her gift of making the smallest moments into the grandest of memories, never missing a single birthday, anniversary, or special occasion, and the beautiful way she showered everyone around her with her selfless gift of uninterrupted, quality time.  Sue was a true believer that no matter the cost or convenience, life is about the experiences and the memories you make with those you love.

Those left to honor her memory are her loving husband of 50 years, Paul Cato of Annapolis, MD, her children Mick (Keri) Cato of Annapolis, MD Jennifer Cato, Sara (Dan) Bailey of Virginia Beach, VA, and grandchildren Paulmer Cato and Violet, Annabelle and Weston Bailey.  Her siblings Patricia (David) Myers, Pam (Doug) Briggs, Mike (Debbie) Murphy, and Barb Dettlaff.

A service will be held at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church on Thursday September 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
