Steven William Longcrier, beloved husband of Mona LaCovey Longcrier, passed away peacefully in his home on October 31, 2024. Born on September 17, 1948, to the late Robert Longcrier and Dorothy Rose. He married his wife, Mona, in August of 1999 and recently celebrated a 25-year anniversary on September 1 of 2024.
Steve was a cherished husband to Mona, stepfather to Amy, Wendy, and David (predeceased), grandfather to Andrew, Payton, Delaney, Carly, Joey, Samantha, and Nancy. He was a brother to Linda and Sherry.
Steve enjoyed being an extremely talented saxophonist, sharing his love of music in his church, at home, and with friends. He was offered a position in the USAF band but was challenged by his vision to join. Steve had a deep, rich, baritone voice and was enjoyed by all who heard him sing. In addition, Steve was an avid pool player and made it to the state level competition in Florida.
Steve was multi-talented in occupations. After achieving his bachelor's degree, while managing drug stores in Florida, he became an international software consultant. He travelled to Singapore, Taiwan, Great Britain, and Italy to teach his craft to clients. After retiring, he joined his wife in real estate in applying his talents to organizing and marketing her business. He achieved a level of E-Pro from the National Association of Realtors.
Steve was well known and well loved. His church family, family, and friends supported him as he battled pancreatic cancer. He was a loving and caring child of God and served his church, community, and those in need.
He cherished his life and his wife, Mona. They were a light for each other.
Family and friends are invited to his memorial service on November 23, 2024, 1:00 pm at Severna Park Baptist Church on Benfield Road in Severna Park, Md.
