Stephen Murphy
Stephen Francis Murphy, 54, a retired Secret Service agent and a resident of Millersville for 15 years, died of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma Feb. 3 at his home.
Mr. Murphy was born Jan. 26, 1953, the son of Sarah Murphy of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the late John Murphy. He was reared in Brooklyn, and was also a past resident of Pearl River, N.Y., for 10 years.
Mr. Murphy graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., in 1975 and earned a master's degree from the John Jay School of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York.
He retired from the Secret Service in 2004 after 28 years of service. He also worked as a supervisor for the Federal Air Marshals for two years.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Wilhelmena A. Murphy; two daughters, Siobhan Murphy of Baltimore and Kaitlyn Murphy of Millersville; and five brothers, John and Martin Murphy, both of Brooklyn, James Murphy of Short Hill, N.J., Patrick Murphy of Edison, N.J., and Michael Murphy of New Jersey.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave. in Millersville, with burial in the church cemetery.
