Stephen Strickland Jr., 82 of Gambrills MD, son of the late Stephen and Florence Strickland of Goldsboro North Carolina, died Friday November 29, 2013 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. He is survived by his Wife of 60 years Peggy Strickland, his Daughter Susan Sanders, his Granddaughter Brianna Sanders and his Son In-Law Michael Sanders.

Steve was a decorated Army Veteran who spent thirty years in The United States Army Veterinary Service and traveled the world during his many years of service. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1979 following his last duty assignment at Fort Meade Maryland and maintained his home in Gambrills Maryland.

Steve was a kind, gentle, compassionate man who loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Brianna.

Funeral Arrangements are being provided by Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home located at 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, Maryland 21146.

Viewings will be held on Thursday December 5th from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm. A memorial service will be held on Friday December 6th at 11:00am at the funeral home, with interment to take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.

A reception will be held at his daughter's house in Arnold, Md immediately following the memorial Service on Friday.
