Stella Stanley Stella Angeline Stanley, 97, a resident of Millersville for 13 years, died of natural causes Jan. 5 Genesis ElderCare Network Severna Park Center after a brief illness.
The daughter of the late Luther and Dora Bell Heath Testerman, Mrs. Stanley was born March 7, 1909, in Grassy Creek, N.C., where she was reared and lived before moving to Roanoke, Va., for six years and Elizabethton, Tenn., for 59 years.
Mrs. Stanley was a homemaker whose interests included gardening, cooking and caring for her grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Elizabethton.
She was the widow of Earl B. Stanley; step-daughter of the late Vertie Testerman; sister of the late Lydia and Lillard Testerman; and step-sister of the late Ruby and Ruth Eldreth. Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Norris of Whitehouse Station, N.J.; one son, Kenneth R. Stanley of Millersville; four half-brothers, Sam Testerman of Sailsbury, N.C., Robert Testerman of Warrensville, N.C., Ray Testerman of Kernersville, N.C., and Ralph Testerman of North Wilksboro, N.C.; three half-sisters, Mildred Thomas of Winston Salem, N.C., and Ella May Brooks and Virginia Weaver, both of Warrensville, N.C.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Burial will be held in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens, Tenn.
