Stanley Ostrowski

Stanley Valentine Ostrowski, 93, of Jacksonville, Fla., died April 3 at Baptist on the Beach Hospital in Jacksonville after a brief illness.

Mr. Ostrowski was born June 17, 1912, in Baltimore, the son of the late Catherine and Stanley Ostrowski. As a young man he moved to Arnold when his parents purchased a farm owned by the family for which the Arnold area is named.

He was a lease operator for E. Brook Matlack for many years, and enjoyed talking about his experiences as a truck driver. He loved to take automobile trips around the country to sightsee and spend time with his family.

He was married for 67 years to Margaret Catherine Crist Ostrowski before her death on May 27, 2004.

Surviving are four children, Stanley Ostrowski of Denton, William Ostrowski of Jacksonville, with whom he resided, Volandta "Lonnie" Kelly of Arnold and Janice Brands of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Genevieve White of Severna Park; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
