Stanley J. Zakens, Jr., 52, a forty year resident of Pasadena, MD died at his home on June 30, 2009 due to heart failure.
Mr. Zakens was born in Baltimore, MD on July 16, 1956. He was raised in Pasadena and also lived in Severna Park, MD. Mr. Zakens graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Koppers then opened his own business. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, boating, camping and white water rafting.
He is survived by his father, Stanley Zakens, Sr. of Odenton, MD; his fiancé, Betty Atkinson of Pasadena, MD; his daughters, Monica and Nicole Faith of Dubois, PA and Kavon Atkinson of Pasadena, MD; his sister, Joyce Piatti of Severn, MD; a brother, Gary Zakens of Pasadena, MD; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Zakens.
A funeral service was held on July 2, 2009 at BARRANCO & SONS, P. A. SEVERNA PARK FUNERAL HOME with an entombment at CEDAR HILL CEMETERY in Brooklyn Park, MD.
