Signy Stephanie Ellerton-Cale nee Stewart, 71, of Severna Park, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 surrounded by her family. Signy was born on July 1, 1944 to William and Signy Stewart in New York City, NY. She was raised in upstate New York and was a resident of Rome, NY and Columbia, MD before settling in Severna Park, MD. She was a resident of Anne Arundel County for 25 years.

Signy attended Buffalo State University in Buffalo, NY. She was employed at the U.S. House of Representatives as Chief of Staff for the two Congressman, Barry Goldwater, Jr. and Al McCandless.  She played an integral part in the Campaign of many Republican Candidates.

She enjoyed journalism, traveling, especially to the beach, and spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, husband, and family.

Signy is survived by her husband, Robert Daniel Cale of Severna Park. She was a loving mother to her daughter: Signy "Stevie" Rich (Michael) of Chestertown, MD and to her stepdaughter: Deana Cale Graebner (Jon) of Clearwater, FL. She was a cherished grandmother to: Harlee, Stephanie, Keira, and Maggie. She will be deeply missed by her siblings: Frances Aiken of N. Ft. Myers, FL, Patricia Pollock of Reisterstown, MD, Christine Stewart of Maitland, FL, William Stewart of Sykesville, MD, and Stephen Stewart of Laurel, MD.

Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11:00am at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
