Sidney Andrew Ripple, 78, a 57-year resident of Severna Park, passed away at his home on July 7, 2025, after a courageous 10-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease and COPD. He was born on November 19, 1946, in Baltimore to Jack and Inez Ripple.

Sidney grew up in Millersville and graduated from Severna Park High School in 1965. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps and service until 1968. In 1975, he married the love of his life, Barbara. Together, they raised their two daughters, Anna and Amy. Sidney had a very successful career with Reliable Contractors that spanned 45 years as a heavy equipment operator.

Sidney was an avid fisherman and loved crabbing. He enjoyed working on small engines and playing cards.

Sidney is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Barbara; his cherished daughters, Anna Ripple of Severna Park, MD and Amy Daniel (Justin) of California, MD; his loving grandchildren, Destiny and Jackson. He is also survived by his sister, Jackie Kelly, of Harford County, MD.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 2 pm to 4 pm & 6 pm to 8 pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:30 am in the funeral home.

Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd., Crownsville, MD 21032
