Shirley Juanita Katlic (nee Sands), known as "Neets" to friends and family, passed away on February 26, 2023 at her home in in Arnold. She was born on February 27, 1936 to William and Mary Sands in Baltimore, MD. Neets was a loving wife, mom, and mom-mom. She enjoyed making crocheted creations for family and friends.  She was very strong willed and opinionated. She won every argument even if she was wrong. She loved her word search books. She adored her cat Koala and absolutely loved her dogs, Misty and Baby.

Neets was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Elizabeth; as well as her husband, James F. Katlic, Sr., who passed in January of 2023. She is survived by her children, James F. (Celeste) Katlic, Jr, of Pasadena, MD, Alan J. Katlic, of Arnold, MD, Sharon L. (George) Thomas of Abingdon, MD, and Bernadette E. (Dave) Jones of Sparrows Point, MD; as well as her 10 beloved grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD, 21146. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment is to follow to Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
