Shirley Mary Davis, 77, a resident of Severna Park, MD died of natural causes on September 17, 2008 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Mrs. Davis was born on December 15, 1930 in Houma, Louisiana, where she was raised. She graduated from Terrebonne High School in Houma and later attended Nicholls College in Thibodeaux, a junior campus of Louisiana State University. She worked as a receptionist for the Louisiana State Department of Labor. Mrs. Davis married her husband Leonce J. Davis in 1950. Prior to moving to Severna Park more than 20 years ago to be closer to her grandchildren, Mrs. Davis and her husband resided in Houma and New Orleans, LA.

Mrs. Davis was a Junior WAC during WW II. She was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, dining out in local establishments, and cooking, especially Cajun and Creole. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leonce J. Davis, her daughter, Downie, and Downie's husband, Thomas, of Severna Park, her son-in-law, John Morrison, of Sante Fe, NM, her sister, Louella Haddad, of Houma, LA, 3 grandchildren, Caitlin, Grace and Christopher Codd, of Severna Park, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christie Morrison, in 2004, as well as her four brothers, Magel, Glen, Lloyd and Ronald Pellegrin, and her sister, Jeannette Daigle, and her parents, Lowell and Evela Pellegrin.

A memorial mass will be offered at St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 10:00 AM. The interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church 689 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. Online condolences may be made at www.barrancofuneralhome.com.
