Shirley N. Bosmajian of Annapolis died on October 29, 2019. Born March 20, 1925 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Arvid W. Nelson and Florence M. McNeil Nelson. Her only sibling, Kenneth W. Nelson, predeceased her.

Shirley received her BS in Chemistry from Monmouth College (Monmouth, Illinois) where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She earned a Masters degree in Chemistry from Washington State University (Pullman, Washington) where she met her future husband, Dr. George Bosmajian, Jr. After raising three sons, she attended Anne Arundel Community College to study tax preparation. Once she completed her studies, she became an IRS-certified Enrolled Agent and started her own tax preparation business.

Shirley and George were married for 61 years.  After George retired from the civil service, they traveled extensively throughout the world,  visiting all seven continents and over 80 countries. They were both active genealogists, and planned trips around their research including a vacation to George's ancestral home of Armenia and her ancestral home of Sweden.

Shirley is survived by her three sons, George Bosmajian, III and wife Patricia of Pasadena, MD, Peter J. Bosmajian of Key West, FL, and Neil W. Bosmajian and wife Robin of Hermosa Beach, CA, and three grandchildren, Daniel, Caroline, and Stephanie Bosmajian.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. For those desiring, contributions may be made in Shirley's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
