Sheldon Lee Hild, passed away on January 20, 2026 at his home in Severna Park.
Sheldon was born on October 14, 1954, in Baltimore, MD. He was raised in Glen Burnie and graduated from Andover High School. Sheldon worked for many years in manufacturing, working for both Procter and Gamble and Lever Brothers. Sheldon went on to take a job with Anne Arundel County Public School System, before retiring.
He loved duckpin bowling and model trains. Sheldon enjoyed family vacations to Disney World and Ocean City. He was an avid sports fan of the Orioles and Ravens. But most of all, he was the biggest fan of his family and cherished his time spent with them. Known as “Pop Pop” to his seven grandchildren, he found his greatest joy in watching them play sports and participate in school activities, playing UNO with them and welcoming them for special “Cousin Sleepovers”.
Sheldon is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Hild (nee Moore); his son, Tim Hild (Cara); his daughter, Michele Aquila (Christopher); his daughter, Laura Hoch (Andrew); his daughter-in-law, Laura (B) Hild; his sister, Beverlyann Wick (Kenneth); grandchildren, Amber, Carter, Anna, Ryan, Landon, Eddie and Sammie; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Sheldon was preceded in death by his Mother Evonne Louise (nee Eslein) and Father Frank William Jesse Hild.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 1-3pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. The memorial service will follow, at 3pm on February 1, 2026, also at the Funeral Home.
