On Monday, November 23rd, our beloved entertainer, Sean Hetrick, passed away unexpectedly. Sean was born on October 6th, 1987 in Rota, Spain to parents Jackie Lyn and Mark Shawn Hetrick. From Rota, the Navy took the family to Naval Station-Earle in New Jersey. Their stay in New Jersey was brief and they were soon packing to leave for Arnold, Maryland. This is where Sean and his two siblings, older brother Craig and younger sister Katelyn, would know as "home." Sean, even as a small child, was always comfortable entertaining the family with his antics and infectious laugh. Affectionately known to the family as "Seanito", he would lovingly accept being the center of attention at family gatherings.
Sean gravitated towards music as a young boy. He would listen to classic rock with his dad and he started to compile his list of favorites from Clapton to Hendrix to Duane Allman. It was becoming clear, Sean was a guitar man. He started playing guitar in his teen years and started to show flashes of talent when he hooked up with some friends and started his first band, A Different Look which would give way to The Vista Saints. Sean wanted to be the front-man and would start to develop as a singer and guitar player. Sean was pretty much self-taught on guitar but would pick up chords and techniques from people along the way and would scour the web for songs that he wanted to learn.
Sean became a true fixture in the Annapolis music community, playing music to his adoring fans in crowded restaurants and various establishments.
Along with music, Sean loved the outdoors and especially fishing - locally in the Chesapeake Bay as well as trips north to the wilds of Pennsylvania to fly fish for trout.
Another of Sean's greatest loves was to travel and see the world. Trips overseas to Southeast Asia only fed his desire to see more.
It was in 2013 that Sean met the love of his life, Allyson Hughes, and her son Kaiden. Sean was smitten with Ally and Kaiden and in 2014, Sean officially adopted Kaiden. Ally and Sean were then married in the summer of 2015. Later that year, in December, they would welcome Colette Rose to the world. Ally, Kaiden, and Colette, or "Coco", were Sean's world. He would gush about his family whenever asked and would light up when talking about them.
Sean spent time working on his music with his latest band Sean Hetrick and The Leftovers. The band released 2 albums and toured out west and the southeast US in recent years. His love of music was a driving factor in his life, and along with playing live events, he worked as a waterman and an all-around handyman, helping wherever he could.
Sean's radiant soul shone upon anyone that encountered him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Sean is survived by his wife Allyson, son Kaiden, daughter Colette, Mother Jackie, brother Craig, sister Katelyn, numerous aunts and uncles, his loving in-laws, his niece, and hundreds of friends.
In lieu of flowers, Sean's family is asking for donations to be sent to a GoFundMe set up to support Ally and the kids:
