Sarah Patricia "Pat" Webb, 86, a longtime resident of Severna Park, MD died on January 6, 2009 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, due to post-surgical complications.
She was born Sarah Patricia Campbell on August 29, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas. There she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, where she was a member of the Lasso girls, who were featured on the cover of Life Magazine in 1938 and appeared at the 1939 NY World's Fair. Mrs. Webb earned her BA degree in English from Texas State College for Women. She became a librarian in an Army hospital in Louisiana where she met her future husband, the late Stanley Gordon Webb, on a blind date. They were married in 1946 and came to Maryland that same year, moving to Severna Park in 1948.
Mrs. Webb was an active 50+ year member of St. Martin's in- the- Field Episcopal Church. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a PTA activist, and as a lifelong supporter of the arts, she was among the first to enroll her daughters into the Mary Carter School of Dance. She enjoyed reading, swimming, sewing, and coupon clipping.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Andreatta of Washington, D.C. and Susan Wincek of Severna Park and her grandsons, Jake and Mark Wincek, also of Severna Park.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial visitation at the Barranco & Son, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Sunday, January 18 at 3-5 pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 19 at 11:00 am at St. Martin's in- the -Field, 375 Benfield Road Severna Park, MD. Interment will be private.
