Sarah Elisabeth Sobeck, 34, passed unexpectedly, on September 16, 2016 at her mother's home in Florida.

Sarah was born June 2nd, 1982, in Baltimore Maryland, the second born daughter of her parents, Amina & George Sobeck. Sarah inherited stunning beauty from her mother Amina, and a great compassion for people from her father George. She was known for her inner and outer beauty. Born as the little sister of Theresa Sobeck, and later becoming the big sister of Alex Sobeck, she had an adventure-filled childhood. Sarah enjoyed spending time with her family and community of friends. She had a genuine love for all people, and was known to put the needs of others first. Friends recall that she was the type of person who would remember your preferences, and would delight in surprising you with the creature comforts you preferred. Regardless of the amount of time that would pass, she had a knack for recalling the favorite things of others.

Sarah graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (an honors college), where she double majored, achieving a B.A. in Management of Aging Services & Political Science. She strived to make improvements in Health and Public Policy. During her education at UMBC, she made the dean's list, served as President of the Erickson School Council of Majors, and achieved Sigma Alpha Lambda at the National Leadership and Honors Organization.

Prior to her collegiate achievements, Sarah attended Broadneck High School in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Her friends recall her extroverted attitude, and the way that she made deep personal connections. While in high school, she forged relationships with a core group of lifelong friends. She considered these friends as her sisters, and she worked to keep everyone connected. For Sarah, the people in her life were family, and she was a sister to all. Sarah had a way with people. Her warm smile brightened any room she walked in, as everyone knew it to be genuine.

Sarah's career was focused on public policy and social improvement. She was most proud of her decade long service at Valis Associates, achieving a position as a Senior Account Executive. She joined Valis associates after serving the State of Maryland at the Howard County Office of Budget. In her career, she made friends instead of just making contacts.

Sarah loved to dance, and she shared her joy for the dance floor with all. She was known for holding dance parties in all of her residences. Even the most self-conscious and awkward dancers would find a smile when she would bring them onto the dance floor. If you did not want to dance, Sarah would encourage you to sing.

Sarah was an avid traveler, a cheerful golfer, and an amateur photographer. She would happily reminisce about her worldwide travels, and loved to hear stories from fellow travelers. She loved exotic places, and would facilitate trips for her friends and family. She was planning a trip to Ibiza. She did not simply visit locations as a tourist, but instead, she explored communities and cultures. In Jamaica she was called "Ja-Merican". In Alaska, she was called Alaskan.

Sarah made genuine connections with people wherever she went. Her impact can be seen in the donations on the GoFundMe campaign. Donors from Paris, Russia, Scotland and major American trade association leaders, as well as lifelong friends from high school and throughout many stages of her life have donated. This is a testimony to her kindness and love of people.

Her motto in life was to do unto others. She found pleasure in helping people to follow their own hearts. She was patient with the old, and encouraging with the young. Sarah would call to check-in with you, and would never rush you off the phone. Sarah had large phone bills that she never regretted paying. Her positive "glass is half-full" attitude will be missed greatly.

Sarah loved to spend Sundays watching B-list Sci-Fi movies. Sarah's father George would call the ritual Sci-Fi Sunday, and she continued the tradition even after his passing. Sarah was a cat person. She loved all the cats in the world, and would take in any creature whom was in need of a home. She also loved one dog above all others, her brother's dog "BoyBoy". She called him Beatle-Bop.

Sarah is survived by her brother Alexander Sobeck and her mother Amina Sobeck.
