IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sally Sue
Beveridge
May 30, 1929 – November 30, 2025
Sally Sue (Rich) Beveridge, 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Susan Gauthier. Sally was born on May 30, 1929, to Florence Gayle (Gates) and Seward Warren Rich in Grove City, PA where she grew up with her two younger brothers, Ted and Mickey.
Sally attended and graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1947, and then went on to study bookkeeping. One of her first jobs was working for The Public Debt in Parkersburg, WV, where she met her future husband, Jim Beveridge. During the years that JFK was president, Sally worked as a legal secretary in Washington DC. In 1974 Sally and Jim relocated to Seabrook, NH. There Sally worked for the Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, where she won many awards for outstanding achievements. In 1987, Sally and Jim retired to Spring Hill, FL where they resided until Sally moved to Annapolis to live with her daughter, Susan, and son-in-law, Arthur.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her daughter, Sherry Merrill, and her grandson, Ronnie Welch. Sally is survived by her three children, David Shane Beveridge and his wife Janet , Susan Gauthier & Jaimee Thurmond, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and literally countless family and friends who knew and loved her.
Growing up, Sally spent weekends and summers with her beloved grandparents the Reverend Dr. Custer Rich and Elizabeth (Jaycox). Their influence and guidance had a profound impact, and created in Sally a life-long love for church and a deep and abiding faith in God.
Sally’s inherent goodness, faith and kindness, which was so well-nourished by her grandparents, extended far beyond her cherished family to encompass nearly everyone she met in her long life. She now leaves this earth a more beautiful place just for having been in it. Sally was truly an angel on earth.
In loving memory of one of the kindest women who ever lived.
You are in our hearts and in our memories forever.
There will be a celebration of life at her home church, Northcliffe Church, in Spring Hill, FL in January 2026. Her internment celebration will be held at the Crownsville Veteran’s Cemetery in April 2026. Please check back for details.
