Ruth Joyce Zucchi of Severna Park, MD, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 81 years old.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Attilio Zucchi. She was the child of Raymond and Marion Flanagan of Taunton, MA. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, and she was a 1949 graduate of Taunton High School.


It was during her high school years she learned to love to dance, ice skate, and read. She moved to Maryland in 1954. She retired from the former Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Linthicum with 35+ years of service as a corporate secretary. Over the years she developed close friendships with fellow employees that would last a lifetime.

Her hobbies included theater, needlepoint, family history, reading, cooking, gardening, and bird watching. She had boundless love for her family and animals.
She was a devoted member of St. Alban's Church in Glen Burnie, MD. She has been a member for over 50 years and was a member of the alter guild.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Z. Ridgley and husband, Kevin Ridgley of Severna Park, MD; and two granddaughters, Kellie N. Forst and Jennifer L. Ridgley.

Visitation will be between 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 1st Ave and A Street, SW, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Burial will be private.
