Ruth G. Shelley (nee Gittings), 87, a resident of Severna Park died on October 2, 2010 at Tate Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum after a lengthy illness.

She was born on August 31, 1923 in Baltimore, Maryland, where she was raised and graduated from Forest Park High School and previously lived in Pasadena, MD for ten years.

Mrs. Shelley worked as a receptionist for Food Machinery Chemical Company in Baltimore for nearly fifteen years.

Ruth enjoyed going to crab feasts and especially loved crab cakes.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Owen L. Shelley, her son, Glen C. Shelly, her parents, Pearl and Albert Hoag, and her father, Benjamin Gettings.

Survivors include her husband, Ford Wilson on Severna Park; son, Robert O. Shelley and daughter in-law, Lorrie Schoettler-Shelley of Harpers Ferry, WV; grandson, Christopher R. Shelley of Towson, MD; and granddaughters, Caren E. Shelley of Baltimore, MD and Allison M. Shelley of Towson, MD.

A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Friday, October 8, 2010 at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore & Annapolis Blvd in Severna Park. A Committal Service will be at Moreland Memorial Park, 2901 Taylor Avenue, Parkville, MD.
