Ruth Marshall Moore, 78, a resident of Severna Park since 1960, died of cancer Feb. 8 at home.

Born Oct. 2, 1926, in Baltimore, Mrs. Moore graduated from Annapolis High School in 1944. She taught kindergarten at Jones Elementary School and Woods School in Severna Park.

Subsequently she worked at Dr. Jean Trettin's office in Annapolis as an office manager.

She was a member of the Naval Academy Golf Club, Annapolis Yacht Club and Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge.

She was the widow of Frank B. Marshall Jr.

Surviving are her husband, Basil E. Moore Jr.; two daughters, Sally Marshall Wogsland of Georgia and Amy Christine Swan of Severna Park; one stepson, Randolph T. Moore of Severna Park; one stepdaughter, Cynthia Andrews of Millersville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. in Severna Park. Burial is private.
