Ruth Fifer, 90 a resident of Greensboro, Maryland formally of Pasadena, Maryland died Sunday, August 4, 2013.

She was born April 27, 1923 in Baltimore Maryland. On Christmas Day 1939 she married Marine, Joseph Fifer. They were happily married for 41 years.

Ruth Fifer worked as surgical assistant in her early years until becoming a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed spending summers with her sisters in Ocean City, Maryland and traveling to Florida. Her hobbies included crocheting, bowling, reading, bingo, playing cards especially Rummy with her sisters. She was a great cook and baker. Ruth also had a love for country music.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph John Fifer, Sr ; son, Joseph John Fifer, Jr. and daughter, Phyllis Lee Fifer.

She will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Pauline Gottleib andher husband Charles,Joann Knight; six grandchildren, Tammy LeBow , Pam Franke, Chuck Gottleib, Angela Riddle, Paul Gottleib and Amy Hart; ten great-grandchildren, Joseph, Courtney, Alyssa, Emily, Kayla, Amber, Katie, Eric, Jacob and Grace; one great great grandchild, Colbie.

Friends may visit on Wednesday August 7, 2013 from 5-8:00pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. Services will be held on Thursday August 8, 2013 at 10:00am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in the MD Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, MD.
