Ruth Ball, of Severna Park, Maryland, passed away on October 11 at her home, in the company and care of her family. She was born Ruth Antoinette Hauck in Yonkers, NY, the daughter of Josephina and Frederick Hauck. She married William Ball in 1952. She succeeded Bill and her sister Lorraine Stark. She was a loving, supportive and cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother who received great joy from and had great pride in her family. She is survived by daughters Debbie Lawrence, of Hyattsville, MD, and Heather Briganti, of Severna Park, MD, as well as grandchildren Paige and Jacob Briganti, Sarah Catalano and Blair Warren, and great grandchildren Laney, Hunter, Liam and Charlotte of Virginia.
Ruth moved to Maryland from New York in 2004 where she and Bill became active members of the Severna Park Methodist Church, and where she made many friends. She also lent her talent and support to the Order of Eastern Star. She was a program administrator for the NY State Board of Cooperative Services prior to her retirement. Ruth was 82.
Ruth will be remembered for the beautiful, warm smile she had for everyone and her ability to make friends with anyone. She had a large and caring heart and her eternal positive outlook, strength and spiritual conviction was evident every day. She was deeply grateful for her many blessings of family, friends and all the love that surrounded her in health and during her illness.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of the Hospice of the Chesapeake and the dedicated and devoted nursing staff from Regents for their devotion.
A service to honor and celebrate Ruth will be held on November 1 at 2pm at the Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD 21146. A reception to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122, or the Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD 21146.
