Russell H. Oursler Jr., 72, a three-year resident of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and a past resident of Parkton in Baltimore County and Severna Park for 30 years, died unexpectedly of an aneurysm Jan. 8 at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Oursler served in the Army, graduated from Gettysburg College and worked in the insurance industry.
He was a member of the American Legion and his interests included tennis, watching Baltimore Orioles baseball and Colts and Ravens football, family picnics and poker.
Surviving are his wife, Gayle M. Steiger Oursler, whom he married Sept. 20, 1958; one son, Mark Oursler of North Beach; three daughters, Susan D. Oursler of Woodstock in Howard County, Wendy Kursch of Rutherfordton, N.C., and Robin Cataldi of Millersville; two sisters, Linda Baltaeff of Broomall, Pa., and Cindy Oursler of West Chester, Pa.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Funeral services and burial are private.
