Roy Glenn Kidwell, a beloved 35 yr resident of Severna Park, died peacefully on Christmas Eve at 6:33 pm surrounded by his family.

Born on September 15, 1933 in Sandy Spring, MD to the late Eugene & Ruth (Bigelow) Kidwell. He was raised in the DC area, the 8th of 9 children. Survived by Lorraine Comber of VA, and Thomas (Loretta) Kidwell of MD.

Graduated from Maryland Park HS.  Drafted and served in the Korean Conflict.  Earned his BS from University of Maryland and obtained his MBA from George Washington University.  He started his career with Washington Terminal in 1951 and retired after 26 yrs from CSX Railroad in 1986. He enjoyed playing and watching football, basketball, baseball and golf. He was a member of the Chartwell Golf & Country Club since 1981.

Roy was an active, long time member of SPUMC.  In his retirement he enjoyed restoring antique cars. Many came to him for his helpful advice. He was a member of many car clubs including Mid-Atlantic Plymouth Club, CPOC, and AACA.  He was proud to have participated in four different years of the "Great American Race."

Survived by his loving wife, Patricia, of 61 yrs. Three children; Michael (Susan) Kidwell, Cynthia (Jay) Myers, and Karen (Don) Adams. Five grandchildren; Brittney Kidwell, Eric Myers, Paige (Zach) Adams-Cousino, Thomas Adams, and Samuel Adams.

Visitation will be at Barranco & Sons Funeral Home,P.A 495 Ritchie hwy Severna Park MD on Wednesday December 28 from 4 to 7pm.  The Memorial Service will be held  at Severna Park United Methodist Church (SPUMC), 731 Benfield Rd, on Thursday December 29 at 11am.
