Roy Edward Haugh, 93, of Cape St. Claire, Maryland passed away in his sleep on May 24 th 2018. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Anne B. Q. Haugh, his daughter Judith Anne Haugh, his daughter Rory Anne Smith along with her husband Michael Smith, and his grandson Ryan Smith.

Roy was born in New Hampton, Iowa on November 9, 1924. After graduating high school and joining the US Army Air Corp in 1943, Roy served as a medic in the historic WWII South Pacific campaign. In 1947, Roy transitioned into the US Air Force, eventually attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He served in four overseas tours in Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Japan and Greenland. Domestically, he was stationed across the country in New York, Colorado, New Mexico, and California. Roy was a proud veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. After 20 years in the US Air Force, he retired in 1963 from Oxnard Air Force Base in Oxnard, California. Despite many challenges and reassignments, Roy graduated in 1965 from California State University Northridge with a bachelor's degree in Economics. In 1976, Roy moved with his wife and two daughters to Annapolis, Maryland to work as a defense contracts administrator.

Roy was an active member in several organizations including Masonic Lodge 89, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, Palestine Commandery #7, Boumi Shriners, VFW Post 160 and the American Legion Post 175. Roy also enjoyed coin collecting, golf, and watching college football, proudly supporting both the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 3-5 pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 1 pm in St. Margaret's Church, 1601 Pleasant Plains Rd, Annapolis, MD 21409. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
