On Wednesday, July 31, 2013, another Alto was added to the Heavenly Choir. Rosemary Anne Lessing Ronning, 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children. She was born on April 28, 1925 in Maplewood, Missouri to Charles and Mary Katherine Boehner Lessing.

Rosemary grew up in Maplewood, Missouri and graduated from Richmond Heights High School.

Rosemary married Vernon Sherwood Ronning September 5, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri. They were happily married for 47 years until his death in 1994. Rosemary was a founding church member of Gloria Dei! Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, singing in the choir with her husband, ringing handbells, attending her weekly bible study group and babysitting children.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Katherine, her husband, Vernon Sherwood, and one brother, Charles C. Lessing.

Rosemary leaves lovely cherished memories to her four children, Mary Joanne Ronning of Salisbury, Leslie Christian Ronning (Daryle) of Pikeville, Kentucky, Carol Barbara Ronning of Queenstown and Carl Martin Ronning (Kelli) of Queenstown; her five grandchildren, Jessica Tudek (Jim), Mary Ronning, Joshua Ronning, A.J. Ronning, Kelsi Ronning: two step-grandchildren, Jeff Elkins and Renee Thacker; her two great-grandsons, Derek Tudek and Reed Sommers, five step great-grandchildren, Paige Thacker, Megan Thacker, Jacob Thacker, Brae Ward and Brynn Elkins.

A visitation will be held at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Richie Highway from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2013. A Funeral service will be held at Gloria Dei! Lutheran, 461 College Parkway, Arnold, Maryland 21012 at 12:15 on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Burial will follow at Maryland's Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
