Rosa Mazzone, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 19, 2018 at her Severna Park residence. Rosa was born, April 11, 1925 in Vittoria, Italy, the daughter of Carmela DeCaro and Franco Arizzi. At age 19, she married the one and only love of her life, Aldo Mazzone, shortly after the end of World War II. They raised three children mostly in Genoa, Italy, until they moved to the United States with their family in 1967.

Most and foremost, Rosa was the ultimate Italian "Mamma." She loved her children more than life itself, and dedicated her entire life to being there with and for them. She was generous to a fault, and never hesitated to offer her support to anyone in need. Rosa was a great cook and loved sewing and gardening. She also loved music and dancing, and in her younger years, she could not refrain from dancing with her husband and children whenever and wherever music could be heard. Rosa's most recent years were spent surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and in her last year of her life she was delighted to attend two family weddings.

Preceded in death by her husband, Aldo & three of her siblings in Italy, Rosa is survived by her youngest brother, Emanuele Arizzi of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and her three children: Nuccia Hardrich, Maria (Jim) Krapf, & John (Amy) Mazzone; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Family and friends may visit on Monday January 22, 2018 from 4-7:00p.m. at Barranco and Sons, P.A., Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD, 21146. A funeral Service will be held on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial is to follow at Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave., Millersville, MD, 21108.
