Ronn Michael Whitman, 65, of Severna Park, MD, passed away on September 21, 2018.

Ronn was born to Peggy Louise (nee Souder) and Philip Henry Whitman on June 6, 1953 in Laurel, MD. He was raised in Glen Burnie, Maryland. He attended Glen Burnie Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1971.

Throughout his childhood, Ronn had a broad and endless curiosity, which spurred him to pursue a seemingly unending array of projects and hobbies. He was industrious by nature and had an innate, quick understanding of all things mechanical and electrical. Ronn also enjoyed the outdoors and pursued hobbies such as fishing, crabbing, sailing with his best friend John Nicoli, gardening, and bee-keeping.

Ronn had wealth of knowledge and dry sense of humor. He was a trivia master. He started at Clarke's Bar in the 80's. Most recently Ronn joined forces with his favorite team, "Jokers to the Right".

Ronn worked as an electrician at Procter and Gamble Manufacturing Facility in Locust Point, Baltimore, MD. He then went on to work for FLS Automation and Kruse Controls. In the early 2,000's he started his own company, Red Shift Automation.

Ronn was an engineer to the end. He excelled at his profession and was referred to as "the wizard" for his ability to come into a manufacturing facility and fix things while others scratched their heads. His career allowed him to work in many different industries such as soap and cement manufacturing, dredging, and rare earth metal mining in the Mohave Desert. These projects allowed him to travel the world and meet many different people along the way. He will be remembered for his professionalism, dedication to excellence and patience.

Above all, Ronn had a deep caring and commitment for his family, this included at least 12 èmigrè that became a part of our family along the way.

Ronn is survived by the love of his life and wife of 27 years, Kathryn Whitman, of Severna Park, MD; his loving daughters, Rachael, Jenna, and Erin Whitman; his two siblings, Kim Maffett and Tory Whitman; and 5 nieces and nephews. Ronn is also survived by his first wife, Donna Gillium; the two daughters he raised with her, the late Angie Dubiel and Debbie Loyd and their children.

A Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday September 27, 2018 from 5:30p.m. - 7:00p.m. with a Memorial service to start at 7:00p.m. in the Barranco & Sons,P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146.
