Ronald "Ron" Morsell LaBarre, 68, a longtime resident of Glen Burnie, died on May 8, 2014 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Ron was born to his parents, Elmer and Margaret LaBarre on January 25, 1946 in Point Pleasant, where he was raised. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School and was a truck driver throughout his life. He loved NASCAR racing, hunting with his friends in West Virginia, boating, and fishing. He enjoyed jokes and country music. He was a good and honest friend, who laughed a lot and loved a lot. He was affectionately known as the "Mayor" of Point Pleasant. Ron cherished his family, especially his daughter and three granddaughters.
Mr. LaBarre is survived by his wife, Myrna, who he married in 1985; his daughter, Ronda (LaBarre) Jerman and her husband, Marty; his granddaughters, Brittany, Tiffany, and Steffany; and his sisters, Lois Middleton, Joan Valenti (Buddy), and Bonnie Ludwig. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Charlotte Eduvigen and Peggy Brukiewa, and his brother, Pat LaBarre.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 13th at the funeral home with the interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
