Ronald "Ron" Felton Cardwell, 78, of Severna Park, passed away peacefully from liver cancer at Hospice of the Chesapeake on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was born in Mobile, AL on April 13, 1945, to Edwin and Agatha Cardwell. He graduated from Severna Park High School and earned his bachelor's degree from The University of Baltimore. Throughout high school and college he played basketball and baseball.

He was married to his high school sweetheart Marian Pritchard Cardwell for 57 years. He is survived by his two children, Brandt (Ariana) Cardwell of Baltimore and Kathryn (Patrick) Murray of Severna Park; six grandchildren, Lizzy Murray, Jack Murray, Phaedra Cardwell, Emma Murray, Ryan Cardwell, and Johnny Cardwell.

Ron worked for Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman from 1968 through his retirement in 2001. His job as a Program Manager took him to many different countries. He coached soccer in Cape St. Claire and Severna Park. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and enjoyed traveling for pleasure. After his children were raised, he took up photography. He was a wonderful husband to his wife and wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral service will be held at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Severna Park on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake or Our Shepherd Lutheran Church.
