On June 28, 2020 Dr. Romeo A. Ferrer, of Annapolis MD, passed away at Anne Arundel Medical Center of complications of heart disease.

He was born in Manila, Philippines to Victorino C. Daroya and Dolores Luwanag Daroya on February 18, 1941. Romeo grew up in Dagupan, Philippines.  He graduated from the University of Philippines, College of Medicine class of 1964, served an OBGYN Residency and then Dr. Ferrer operated his private practice from 1975-2010.

He was a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He was a member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harbor Hospital.  Dr. Ferrer was a member of the Association of Philippine Physicians of Maryland, the University of Philippine Medical Alumni Society of America and Bayanihan Filipino American Alliance of MD.

Romeo's interests included bowling, reading, skiing, tennis, traveling and spending time with his family.  He was also an avid Orioles and Ravens fan.

Romeo married Anna Severn. They were married for 20 years. He is survived by his two children Robin Ferrer Zentz (Craig Zentz) Roman David Ferrer (Kimberly Ottey). He was predeceased by his son, Roland Daniel Ferrer. On November 25, 1994 he married Dr. Mariflor Jamora (Suarez) and was blessed with two stepchildren, Frank Jamora (Hiromi Jamora) and Lisette Jamora (Mark Lo lacono) He is survived by five grandchildren. Roland Daniel Ferrer Il, Daniel Craig Zentz, Sarah Michelle Zentz, John Romeo Ferrer, and Roman David Ferrer Jr.

Romeo was also survived by his siblings Anita Daroya Peralta and Jose Daroya, half siblings Lilia Fortin, Leticia Belisario, Cecilia Garcia and Ernesto Daroya.  Romeo is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  He was also predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Ricardo Daroya and Jovencio Daroya, aunt (adoptive parent), Geronima Agravante Ferrer, uncle (adoptive parent) , Gavino U. Ferrer, half sister, Erlinda Escobilla and half brother, Robert Daroya.

A memorial gathering will be held at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146 on Friday July 17, 2020 from 4:00pm-7:00pm.  A Memorial Mass will be held at St John Roman Catholic Church 689 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146 on Saturday July 18, 2020 at 1:30pm.  Interment will be private.
