He grew up in Arnold, MD and graduated from Severna Park High School. As a young boy and teenager he worked at his father Jim's gas station, Weaverling's Texaco. This is where his love of cars, mechanics, and machinery was ignited. He loved working with his hands and the challenges of figuring out the intricacies of how and why a motor worked. He later went on to work with his father and brother Jerry at Refuse Removers where he drove a roll-off truck for the company. This led him to start Omega Disposal, his own trash removal company, in Glen Burnie,MD. Omega Disposal was a family business. Through the daily grind of growing a business he passed on to his children his passion for mechanics, his dependable work ethic, his integrity of keeping his word, and his generosity in helping others. In his later years Roger remained active in trash removal and mechanics by helping his sons grow their own businesses.

He also loved watching old movies, arguing politics, playing his guitar, listening to bluegrass music, and spending time with his family.
Roger was a faithful member of Antioch the Apostolic Church in Arnold, MD. There he had many lifelong friendships. He was amongst the first converts and remained a pillar of that community. He loved God and strove to love people the same way God loved him.
Roger was kind, honest, opinionated, funny, hard working, genuine, humble, and unassuming. He was a good friend, a loving son, a devoted brother, a caring uncle, and a respected father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His impact will ripple through many generations to come.
Roger is survived by his brother Gerald D. Weaverling (spouse Marie) of Upper Marlboro and his sister, Dawn E. Weaverling-Swing (spouse Jimmy) of Arnold.
