Roger Hill Morrell, 69, a longtime resident of Arnold, died suddenly on September 10, 2012 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Roger was born to his parents, John S. and Vivian Hill Morrell on September 11, 1942 in Freehold, NJ. He was raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL where he graduated from High School. He later served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Construction Industry.

Mr. Morrell was a longtime and active member of the Twelve-Step Recovery Program. He dedicated his time and took great pleasure in helping so many people on the path to recovery from alcoholism and addiction. His efforts have had an immesurable positive impact on so many lives. He was loved and respected by many.

In addition, he was an avid fisherman who enjoyed biking, boating, gardening, woodworking, and building bird houses. He was the "ultimate handy man", always willing to help with a project.

Mr. Morrell is survived by his sons, Anthony J. Morrell of Cocoa, Fl and Bryan R. Morrell of Tampa, Fl; his sister, Beryl Gay Rhodes; as well as, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arnold Palmer Hospital Cancer Center in honor of his granddaughter, Sahra Porras at 92 West Miller Street Orlando, FL 32806. Online condolences may be made at www.barrancofuneralhome.com
