Roger Miner of Fulton, MD passed away in his home on November 8th, 2020. He was 75 years old.
Roger was born February 5th, 1945 in New Haven, Connecticut to Donald Breed Miner and Constance Smith Miner. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and led a successful career in satellite communications which took him all over the world. He was very proud to have traveled to countless countries, including being in China for the Tiananmen Square protests working with Dan Rather and CBS. Amateur Radio was a lifelong hobby of his, earning his callsign K1DQV in 1957 at the age of 12. He was well known in the HAM radio community for his passion for high-powered amplifiers. His other hobbies included trap shooting and restoring antique Ford Model A cars. In his retirement he enjoyed watching football, especially the New York Giants.
Roger is survived by his wife of 38 years Germana; son Donald, daughter-in-law Lucy, and three grandchildren; daughter Tatiana and two grandchildren; and his five sisters Carolyn, Donna, Connie, Vicky, and Robin. He is preceded in death by his brother Douglas.
A memorial will be held in the Spring of 2021.
