Colonel Rod Andrew Coffey, passed away September 28, 2018. Col. Coffey was born in Reading, Pennsylvania to Robert and Loretta Coffey. He grew up in Rhode Island and then attended Carnegie Mellon University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree and later in life went on to earn two Master's Degrees.
Col. Coffey served 27 years active duty in the United States Army. Col. Coffey met and married his wife, Holly Coffey while stationed at Fort Drum, New York. While stationed at Fort Hood, Texas his two sons, Nathanael and Thomas were born. He was also assigned to Fort Stewart, Georgia where he deployed to Kosovo. He also was deployed several times to Iraq. In Iraq, Col. Coffey commanded the 3 rd Squadron 2 nd Cavalry Regiment during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2007 to 2009. He was also stationed in Washington, DC and retired and worked as a Department of Defense contractor. He will always be loved and missed. He is survived by Holly Coffey, Nathanael and Thomas Coffey.
