Robert Worgo, 87 of Arnold, Maryland passed away on July 4 after a short battle with liver cancer.

He was born on July 22, 1936 in Buffalo, NY to Joseph and Florence (neé Cabin) Worgo. He was raised in Buffalo, NY. He joined the Army in June of 1959 and was stationed in New York City. He met Carol DeTrani there and they were wed on June 10, 1961. After serving in the Army, Bob and Carol moved to Buffalo, NY. Bob worked for Bell Aerospace in Niagara Falls, NY as a draftsman. He attended the University of Buffalo while working and he obtained his Bachelors of Business degree. He continued at Bell Aerospace as a cost accountant. He later worked for Sylvania TV in Batavia, NY, Emerson Electric Corp. in St Louis, MO and then for the Federal Government in a Dept. of Defense representative office in Baltimore, MD, from which he retired.

Robert and Carol remained in Arnold, Maryland after moving to Maryland in 1979, but purchased a 2nd house in Bethany Beach, DE to allow for great times and memories with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at the beach and surrounding areas.

Robert enjoyed fishing of any kind. Whether fly-fishing in a stream for trout, on a boat in a lake for bass or standing on the shores of a pond for sunfish and pickerel, he loved it all. He more so enjoyed fishing with his sons, grandchildren and eventually his great grandchildren. He spread the joy of fishing to anyone that would join him.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol Worgo, sons Paul and Thomas, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Raymond of Mocksville, NC. Robert was preceded in death by his son, David Worgo.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM. A short service will follow at 12:00 PM at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. Robert will be buried at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd., Crownsville, MD 21032.
