Robert R. White, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, 90, born in Corsicana, TX on August 8, 1922 to Eugene and Johnnie Mae White, died on July 11 at the Crofton Convalescent Center after a long illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Charlotte B. White, two step-daughters (Linda and Nancy), two sons (Jim and Eric), five step-grandsons (Jason, Chuck, Jeff, Tom and Joe), four step-granddaughters (Jill, Jennifer, Mindy and Miranda), and one step great grandson Jason.
He was a resident of Severna Park for many years and had a private practice, as well as worked with several county school systems. He consulted with multiple hospitals, including Baltimore City Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps.
Bob was a graduate of the University of Texas and then went to New York University to pursue his doctorate. He interned at Sykesville Hospital after which he received his certification from the Maryland Board of Examiners.
He began his career as a clinical psychologist at Baltimore City hospitals. He then became part of the Johns Hopkins Hospital staff and participated in writing a white paper on the effects of lead paint on children and lectured the staff pediatricians on psychology.
He was in private practice in Severna Park until his retirement in 1983. He continued to be a consultant with numerous Maryland counties' boards of education. He retired from Queen Anne's County. He also contracted with Maryland Juvenile Services during his career.
Bob will be greatly missed by family and friends.
