Robert G. Weaver, 82, of Arnold, died April 2 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 3, 1922, in Baltimore, Mr. Weaver grew up in Severna Park. He graduated from Baltimore City College high school and studied accounting at the University of Baltimore. He was retired from Avis Co. where he had been a manager.
He was in the Army during World War II and served under Gen. Douglas MacArthur in Australia.
He had been a runner as a younger man, was interested in current events and was a devoted father to his handicapped child.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve E. Weaver of Arnold; one son, Frederick G. Weaver of Pasadena; one brother, Charles H. Weaver of Claront, N.C.; and one sister, Florence V. Codd of Severna Park. He was the brother of the late James and Lawrence Grant.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where the funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery in Pikesville.
