IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert L.
Tucker
September 18, 1950 – October 4, 2024
Born on September 18th, 1950, Robert L. Tucker passed away October 4th, 2024, shortly after his 74th birthday and 51st wedding anniversary.
Bob, affectionately known as Bobby to his family, or The Viking to some of his colleagues, dedicated the first half of his life to serving as a police officer with the Anne Arundel County Police Department. He grew up in Maryland where he was raised by his grandparents. While on the job Bob met his wife and love of his life, Marga, also known as Yogi. Together the two of them traveled frequently before eventually settling down and having three children. Thier travels did not stop with the advent of children though. They bought an RV and proceeded to travel with thier family around the U.S., creating countless cherished memories as they did sightseeing, visited family, and enriched their childrens' education during their school years.
After serving for 30 years on the police force, Bob retired. However, his commitment to giving back to the community remained important to him and he found new ways to contribute. Bob continued to remain active in the FOP, answering questions and maintaining the 250 Police Alumni Board. In his later years, he spent a lot of time into volunteering at church while he was physically able, learning about and sharing his knowledge of energy healing, as well as becoming a certified Reiki master to help people, and even wrote a short book. There were also, of course, all of his many, many "dad jokes" that he loved sharing with friends, family, neighbors, and anyone who needed a smile (or perhaps a groan, depending on the joke).
Bob leaves behind a loving legacy as a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, one son, two grandchildren, and many wonderful memories. His calming presence, wise words, and great sense of humor will be deeply missed.
The memorial service and internment of ashes for Bob will be held Saturday, November 2nd, at 3pm, at Harundale Presbyterian Church, 1020 Eastway, Glen Burnie, MD. Following the service, a reception with light refreshments will be held at the FOP Lodge #70 Hall, 1311 Generals Highway, Crownsville, MD. All are welcome to attend the service and reception.
