Notes: I had originally wanted to do this at the funeral home with people bringing food back to our house for an old fashioned way of doing things, but I was gently told that there may be more people than will fit in my house. (I hope so!) So, we moved everything on Saturday to our church, which further simplifies things, since all three parts will be in the same place: visitation, service, and reception.
The ladies on the church committee for the reception are prepared to provide some sandwiches, drinks, and desserts for about fifty people (our church choir will be bringing more drinks and food too. So, it's an old fashioned pot luck where you bring your food to the kitchen before the service, and the ladies on the committee will take care of it for you. We have refrigeration, but re-heating will be a little more difficult. Room temperature main dishes (without mayo!) sound yummy to me! We'll have tables set up, with some power strips for crock pots and such, if you bring those. I really would like it informal and friendly. I do wish I could have a lovely, catered affair, but am necessarily reigning myself in.
I hope to greet each one of you at the reception, but don't want you to have to stand in any lines, so please relax, eat, meet people, and I'll be around to everyone as I can.
Thank you,
Donna Ruschell
