Robert "Bob" Thomas Randall, 75, a longtime resident of Arnold, MD, died on January 7, 2010 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, due to pneumonia, after an 18 month illness.
He was born on September 30, 1934 in Centreville, MD, where he was raised, and graduated from Rehoboth Beach High School, Delaware in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army during the mid 1950's and graduated from Eckels College of Mortuary Science in Philadelphia, PA. Bob was married on January 16, 1960. They lived in Baltimore County and moved to Arnold in 1971. Mr. Randall, a funeral director, assisted in managing the Barranco Funeral Home in Severna Park from 1971-1976. In late 1976, he became a Representative with The Dodge Company until his retirement on December 31, 2009.
Bob loved fishing, crabbing, duck hunting, bike riding, woodworking and traveling. He also enjoyed spending time with his sons and their families.
Mr. Randall was a Life Member of the Maryland State Funeral Directors Association, Virginia Funeral Directors Association, Delmarva Funeral Service Association, The Academy of Funeral Service Practitioners, British Institute of Embalmers, Asbury United Methodist Church, and the Maryland State Funeral Suppliers Association.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Flossie T. Randall (nee Taylor) of Arnold; his two sons, R. Thomas Randall of Owings Mills, MD and Russell Randall of Severna Park, MD; and his four grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 12 at 11 AM at Asbury United Methodist Church, 78 Church Road in Arnold. Burial will follow in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.
