Robert Taylor

Robert Millard Taylor Jr., 55, a resident of Arnold for 27 years and formerly of Glen Burnie, died of sepis Jan. 11 at home after a months-long illness.

The son of Robert M. Taylor Sr. of Westminster and the late Betty Taylor, who died in November 2004, Mr. Taylor was born Jan. 26, 1949, in Bronx, N.Y., and reared in Catonsville. He graduated from Catonsville High School in 1967 and later attended computer school.

Mr. Taylor served in the Army during the Vietnam War from September 1970, when he was drafted, to April 22, 1971, when he became paralyzed because of an injury. He worked for the State Roads Commission as a supervisor from 1968 to 1970 and at Arundel Federal Bank from 1975 to 1979. He also volunteered at Anne Arundel Medical Center and with the county Police Department.

Besides his father, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn McDowell Taylor, whom he married May 27, 1977; one son, Andy Snyder of Grasonville; one daughter, Alison Taylor of Towson; one brother, Edward Taylor of Arnold; one sister, Bonnie Bevard of Westminster; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Gloria Dei! Lutheran Church. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Crownsville. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
