Robert Thomas, "Bob" Meyers of Cape St. Claire died peacefully in his home on February 13, 2017. He was born October 5, 1927 and lived in Washington, D.C. with his the late parents May and Theodore Meyers, and late bother, Ted. He attended William McKinley High School. After high school, he pitched for a short time for Brooklyn Dodgers minor league team. He served in the US Army at bases in California and other states. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he attended the University of Maryland, College Park graduating in 1951. He worked most of his career at the Internal Revenue service where he met his late wife, Bonnie Joan Meyers. He retired from the IRS in 1985. He lived his entire adult life in Cape St, Claire on the Magothy River's picturesque Deep Creek. Interests included boating, fishing and crabbing, cooking for family holiday gatherings, being a die-hard fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, and doting on his beloved Norwich Terrier, Gracie. He is survived by his two children, John Meyers (Pam) of Millersville, Mary Meyers (Tom McComiskey) of Baltimore City. He had two amazing grandchildren, Dana and Connor, whose accomplishments and adventures he loved hearing about. A memorial service will be held at Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road, in Severna Park on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Blvd., Severna Park, MD, 21061.
