Robert L. Harris III (Rob) was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1964 and was raised in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He attended Northeast High School and joined the United States Marine Corps immediately thereafter. While serving in the USMC, Rob learned to operate heavy machinery and attained the rank of Corporal (E-4). As a proud United States Marine, he carried the values of discipline, honor, and commitment throughout his life—qualities that shaped the strong character for which he was well respected. Rob received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Marine Corps in November 1986.

Following his military service, Rob founded Site Masters LLC, a construction and excavation company. Reflecting his Marine Corps background, the company’s motto was, “Do It Right.” He also established a commercial parking business serving airport customers, becoming a successful multi-business owner.

For more than 30 years, Rob and Site Masters served property owners, developers, and local government agencies, including the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works and the Maryland Aviation Administration. Through his work, he built lasting professional and personal relationships that endured throughout his life. His business ventures reflected remarkable vision and determination, inspiring all who knew him.

When he was not operating machinery, Rob devoted himself to youth sports programs. While raising his son, his involvement in youth athletics naturally led him to coaching. He served as Basketball Commissioner at Linthicum-Ferndale and coached football, basketball, and baseball at the Gambrills Athletic Club. As a coach and mentor, he taught, encouraged, and inspired countless young athletes to strive for their best, instilling in them the same values of discipline and teamwork that guided his own life.

In 2021, Rob sold his commercial parking business and gradually reduced the operations of Site Masters as he transitioned toward retirement. During this time, he devoted himself to assisting his mother and other family members with their daily needs.

Rob had a deep love for adventure, especially when it came to travel. He embraced opportunities to explore the world, creating cherished memories to last a lifetime. Most recently, he checked off a long-anticipated trip to Iceland from his bucket list.

He also had a love for music and rarely missed an opportunity to attend live events. He found joy in the energy of concerts and the experience of live performances, often gathering with friends and family to enjoy his favorite artists. His appreciation for music was another reflection of his vibrant spirit and love of life.

Rob Harris, 61, passed away on February 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, leadership, and service.

He is survived by his two children, Brandi Marie Connell and Robert L. Harris IV; his longtime companion, Mary Enders, and her three children, whom he loved as his own; and his 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Harris II, and his mother, Rita Jo Harris.

Robert L. Harris III will be remembered for his strength, generosity, leadership, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will live on in the many lives he touched. In his final arrangements, Rob expressed a desire to support causes dedicated to advancing medicine and caring for children. His estate will contribute to the missions of Johns Hopkins University and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital—a reflection of his belief in progress, innovation, and helping others.
