Robert George Gutbrod, 86, of Mt. Airy, MD passed away on April 3, 2019.

Robert was born to Helen (Hoffman) and Edward Gutbrod on June 27, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY. He was raised in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Franklin K. Lane HS. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the US Army for two years.

He married Alice Jane Woods on August 31, 1957 in Queens, NY and worked as a budget director for Joseph E. Seagram & Sons for 35 years. Robert loved his 15 grandchildren and the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Alice Gutbrod, who passed away June 17, 2017.

Robert is survived by his son, Robert Bradley Gutbrod (Virginia), of Sandy Hook, CT; his daughter, Kellie Diekemper (Tony) of Severna Park, MD; daughter Maryalice Gutbrod of Bellerose NY; daughter Karen Gutbrod Wever (John) of Raleigh, NC; and son James Gutbrod (Suzanne) of Bellerose, NY. (15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.)

A service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032.
