Robert "Bob" J. Grusenmeyer, 82, a resident of Severna Park for 9 years, died of leukemia April 24. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 29, 1927. He served in the Navy during World War II, and worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Company in Dayton and Cleveland, Ohio for 35 years.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, treasurer of Phoenix Rising, and a volunteer for Partners in Care.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Zimmerman Grusenmeyer, five children: Michael, and Jeffrey Grusenmeyer of Cleveland, OH, Rebecca Grusenmeyer of Avella, PA, Patrick Grusenmeyer of Newark, DE, and Philip Grusenmeyer of Melville, NY and four step-children: Robert, Mark and Scott Zimmerman and Linda Young. He enjoyed traveling, family, and especially their combined 25 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Schock) Grusenmeyer, who died in 1989.

Family and friends can visit at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy on Tuesday, April 27 from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. Services and Burial will be in Ohio.
