Robert L. Griffin, 70, a longtime resident of Severna Park, died on June 23, 2009 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center due to complications from cancer and diabetes.

Mr. Griffin was born on June 23, 1939 in Baltimore, MD to his parents Glenn and Hazel Griffin. He was raised in Baltimore and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Mr. Griffin worked as a machinist for Westinghouse, where he retired after over twenty years of service. He enjoyed fishing, driving, traveling, and spending time in Maine.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, June Griffin of Severna Park; his daughter, Elizabeth G. Spitzer of Centreville, VA; his step-daughter, Nancy C. Blodinger of Richmond, VA; his stepson, Harvey Blodinger of Charlottesville, VA; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick G. Griffin in 1985.

Friends and family may visit at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00am. Interment will take place at the Jessops Methodist Church Cemetery in Sparks, MD.
