Robert J. Grabinski, 78, a devoted father and husband, died March 2, 2011 at his
home after a lengthy illness. He was born in LaCrosse, WI where he attended
Aquinas High School. He earned a BS Degree in Secondary Education from Wisconsin
State College. Following his service in the Army, he attended the University of
Wisconsin where he earned a BS in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduating, he
went to work for Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, PA. He was later transferred to the
Westinghouse Radar Division in Linthicum, MD where he remained until his
retirement in 1994. His retirement didn't last long. He briefly estimated for an
asphalt company before starting his own striping company.
In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and bowling, even earning a perfect 300
game before zipping up his bowling bag for the last time. He also enjoyed
traveling and camping with his wife, Marian and family.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Marian, his sons Ben, of
Minneapolis, MN, Michael, of New York City, NY, his daughters, Katie, of Arnold,
Mary, of Jacksonville, FL, Lori, of Crofton, sister Barbara, of Lombard, IL, and
sister-in-law Lavonne Grabinski. He is survived by his grandchildren,
Christopher, Benjamin, Kevin, Kelsey, Lillian, Joseph, Olivia, Aiden, and
another baby boy on the way.
Family and friends may visit from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD. Inurnment will be at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
