Robert Bernard Esau, "Bob", 71, a resident of Severna Park, died on August 23, 2010 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, due to complications of liver cancer, after a six month illness.
He was born on August 29, 1938 in Baltimore, where he was raised.
Mr. Esau was employed as an engineer for BGE for 35 years, before retiring in 1994.
He served in the Naval Reserve. He was an avid fan of the Colts and Ravens, loved to travel, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Irene Esau.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Esau of Severna Park; two daughters, Diane Riley of Arnold and Karen Luiza of Edgewater; four stepchildren, Pamela White of Severna Park, Jeff Rives of Elkridge, Christopher Rives of Baltimore, and James Rives of Baltimore; sister, Nancy Jeschke of Ellicott City; and fourteen grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center, 301 Hospital Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
