Robert Eugene "Gene" Duelley, 85, of Chestertown, Maryland, passed away on February 21, 2024. He was born on March 18, 1938, in Fairmont, West Virginia. Gene was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Gene first worked in the coal mines of West Virginia after graduating from Morgantown High School. He married Mildred Duelley on January 28, 1956, and they moved to Maryland where he began his career at NASA. Gene later transitioned to work at Briggs Ice Cream, then upon the closing of Briggs worked at Giant Food and concluded his professional journey at Sun Trust Bank before retiring.

He was a long time member of Landover Hills Baptist Church and found solace in his faith. Gene enjoyed camping, fishing, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and most of all, spending quality time with his family.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Mildred Duelley, his sons Richard Duelley (married to Lorelle) and Timothy Duelley (married to Michelle), his daughter Joy MacSorley (married to Andrew), six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Gene was preceded in death by his three brothers and his parents, Gerard and Georgia Duelley.

A Memorial Service will be held at Barranco Funeral Home in Severna Park, MD on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 11:00 am, to honor and celebrate the life of Gene Duelley. Barranco Funeral Home in Severna Park, Maryland, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
